Cat Shieh is the Anti-Hate Training Coordinator at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago. Prior to the role, a majority of her 5-year high school teaching career was in teaching Ethnic Studies, emphasizing intersectionality and student-centered learning. Her anti-bias & anti-racism (ABAR) curricula have been piloted in the Los Angeles Unified School District as well as multiple charter schools across California. Before working as a teacher, Cat worked in non-profit, public, higher education, and corporate consulting sectors all dedicated to social impact. During her time working in the US House of Representatives, she opened 2 Congressional Caucuses. Cat is an alum of Teach for America, Teach Plus, the Association of Raza Educators, and Coro.
